How the course operates

From September 2025, students will only be able to register at The University of Manchester

Due to the recent changes in the General Data Protection Regulation on the 25th May 2018, we want
to explain how the MSc in Nuclear Science & Technology operates behind the scenes as this is not a
standard Masters.

  • Once you have applied and been successful in obtaining a place on one of the programmes (MSc/PG Diploma/PG Certificate), you will register at the University of Manchester.
  • You will be asked to select the number of course units required for the programme you have been accepted on, as per the link here: Programme Structure – Nuclear Technology Education Consortium
  • Course units are delivered by the various Consortium members stated here: Taught Programme & course units – Nuclear Technology Education Consortium
  • You will travel to the Consortium members university location and stay there for the duration of the course unit (Monday – Friday).
  • The course units offered by the Nuclear Department, Navy Command will be held at the University of Manchester due to on site restrictions at their location.
  • If you are a full time student, we will arrange your travel and hotel for course units which are held outside of the University of Manchester.
  • Administrative support relating to all aspects of the programmes, will come from the NTEC team at the University of Manchester.
  • While attending course units outside of the University of Manchester, you will be under their care and there may be times when we have to discuss DASS elements with this Consortium member. You will always be asked for your permission.
